Um, so, I wish I could say this cosplay was successful but it really wasn't D: I lit up for a total of 10 minutes BEFORE I DECIDED TO BEND MY KNEE TOO FAR AND RUIN THE SOLDERING JOB, WHICH MADE HALF OF MY COSTUME GO OUT. So I posed with my right side in the all the pictures since it was the only stupid thing lit, and even that, at the gathering, my right arm went out, so neither of my sides looked good Not to mention, craft foam is completely inflexible and I did a HORRIBLE job styling that wig. Good god, why did I make it so short.
There is a lot that must be redone before I can ever wear this again :C Despite all the bad things, we were freakishly popular. We did not move from our spot from 1.5 hours, and there were so many photographers at the gathering that I was seeing flashing lights for hours. There was also 2 more Quorras, a Rinzler, a Siren, and 3 original Tron designs. We had a pretty BAMF Tron cosplay group going on.
About the costume: It WAS fully illuminated, home made with EL wire, white upholstery vinyl, frosted shower curtain, black lycra, black craft foam (shaped and textured with a heat gun), 50+ glue sticks (my glue gun caught on fire at one point and almost burnt a hole in my carpet. scared the living shit out of me), the gloves were homemade, and I butchered the shoes beyond recognition. If you want a better detailed description, just ask me, but it would take too long to clearly label everything I did to put this nightmare together in time for the con.
Worn at Anime Expo 2011, sadly we only wore it for one day since our costumes did NOT hold together. Ugh, so much work to do. And this was the best picture that displayed both of our costumes.
Quorra is me. Sam Flynn is Costumes made and worn by us.
You look great even with the solder breaking. I am always amazed by how good you are at this stuff. I would fail completely if I were to try to make anything even close.
looks great ^___^
Thank you~
